A Journalism
360° project grant
funded this amazing USA today VR augmented reality hybrid report. You are immersed in the full story of “the
wall” along the US & Mexico border. They used 30 reporters and
photographers for less bias. Thru podcasts
they share firsthand what they experienced while working on the story. Using
the interactive map and a simulated flight you see the terrain along the path
of the wall for yourself. I watched
videos and heard from the ranchers, patrol officers, vigilantes, and immigrants,
affected by the wall on both sides. The legal aspects to build the wall are
huge. Terrance Garrett said, "It's really a thicket, if you will, of all kinds of
legal problems. We are looking at years, decades, of court cases." This article was an
experience and really helped me understand the issue. Check it out. There is even a VR version of this report on
Vive VR system! (1 image, 1 link, 1 quote, 155 words)
