People over 65 are the most likely to share fake news on Facebook, study finds

Considering that we are on the brink of election time, it’s now more important than ever to evaluate the information that we are receiving today. It’s safe to say that Facebook has played a major role in the spreading of fake news. According to the below article, “conservatives and people over the age of 65 were disproportionately likely to share articles from fake news domains during the last presidential election”. Speaking as a college student, I would like to look up to the elderly when it comes to politics and believe they are knowledgeable about those things, but they are just as much as victims as millennials are. “So many fake news sites were pro-Donald Trump”, which needs to be taken into consideration since he will be running again in the upcoming election.
