Fake News
After searching the web for only two minutes on the topic of "fake news" I was able to find hundreds of fake news stories that mostly dealt with fake famous people rumors and break ups. This news story stated that Miley Cyrus fans were sure that she was pregnant after this picture was released across the internet. The title of the article reads "Is Miley Cyrus Pregnant? Fans go nuts after they see this", this use of rhetorical language helps draw in the reader to find out what made fans think she was pregnant. The unknown is what keeps readers guessing and if you can reel them in with fake news, maybe they will continue to read other eye catching articles. The article states that "fans are certain that Miley Cyrus could be pregnant", the word choice is the first clue that it is fake news. If this were a headliner the title would read "Miley Cyrus is Pregnant!!!" and then in the body paragraph the article would read something like "Miley and Liam will be expecting their first child in late November..." or something along those lines. Many news sources will also try to back up the legitimacy of an arctic;e by having a quote from a family member or directly from the individual stating if it is true or not.
