Detail on Paper

Detail on Paper.

By showing a big picture of the most breaking and interesting topic is how publishers put out the bigger news. The front page is the first thing people look at, so it is important how big they headline the stories and their font, the size of the pictures they put out, and where on the paper or article the story is placed. In the first article, the bigger article headline is is in a larger font than the other headline on the sideline. A catchy headline like “A violent past. A call for help. A stunned city,” is also a great tactic to use in journalism. The picture shows a crime scene and the smaller picture shows a dead officer, the reason for this is that the crime scene would attract more attention than a large picture of a person. The second article has large bold fonts as the headline and a large picture catching the reader’s eyes. Some articles are more catchy than the others, it all depends on how the front page is put together and knowing what news will catch more attention.
