Lynsey Addario is a "photojournalist based in London, where she works for National Geographic, the New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, Fortune, and other publications." She started photography with no professional training but has been taking pictures all over the world including, Africa, Mexico, The Middle East and Cuba. She has lived in many areas that are full of war and poverty. "After the events of September 11, 2001, she returned to South Asia, where she covered the war in Afghanistan and the resulting women's education issues there." She has tenaciously covered many issues related to women and people suffering from war and poverty. Addario has won many awards and written books.
