Most social media users
get their news from different forms of social media. The two most popular social
media news programs I can think of are Facebook and Twitter. While I personally
prefer Twitter because I can see content that comes directly from politicians,
an article from CNBC says that Facebook has made more of an effort to thwart fake
news media, “remov[ing] 2.2 billion fake accounts in the first quarter of 2019”.
Most of the news shared on Facebook is shared by friends and family, rather
than on Twitter where they have a designated section of the app dedicated to
news. Twitter news moments include articles and tweets from both politicians
and regular users to show a variety of reactions to the news being shared.
