Brandon Stanton is not an ordinary journalist. His now famous project, “Humans of New York”, began back in 2010 when he started taking photos of people living on the street of New York to “create an exhaustive catalogue of the city’s inhabitants.” Somewhere along the way, Stanton’s heart was touched by the people and he started to take interviews instead of just the photos. These photos and quotes told the story of all these different people and their different walks of life, compelling Brandon to compile these stories into books to illustrate what, or better yet who makes up New York.
