Fake News: Episode 3

While there are practical ways to shield yourself against fake news, I feel that sometimes you need to bring out the big guns. Various browser extensions can help in this regard and I highly recommend you all research them in your free time.

My research has led me to a blog by our pals over at Liquid VPN. (Okay, I actually don't know these dudes, but they have some interesting insight so play along, okay?)

My favorite extensions, and they are listed among the suggested in the article, are all very effective at lowering the chances you have of running into fake news on the internet.

Extensions such as Fake News Alert and Fake Newsblocker are both good examples of the continuing effort to block this nonsense from ever reaching your computer.

"Extensions work by increasing the functionality of your chosen browser. In this case, the fake news extension will provide a warning message before you open any suspicious websites."

Better to be safe than sorry.
