El Paso Times- Headline
El Paso, Texas, being the border city between Mexico and the United States, gets a lot of backlash and problems. The first headline that’s plastered on the front page, is “Gang warns of bloodshed in Valley of Juárez war.” The editors used bold and large fonts to capture the attention of it’s audience, insinuating alarm. They also used the words “bloodshed” and “war” to create the blood curdling image in your brain, telling you to be afraid of what is happening in Juárez, Mexico. The large fonts and aggressive words keep the readers attention to want to find out more about the story and who is possibly threatened and why.
