Journalist in the Wild - Diane Sawyer

Diane Sawyer is an American journalist. She is best known for her appearances and daily airings on ABC News. She began her journalism career working on a local news station and at the White House in 1970. She has worked for Primetime Live, 20/20, and ABC's morning show Good Morning America. Sawyer has received an Emmy Award in 2000 and 2007 for her work on the ABC World News. She has also received a Peabody Award and the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for her hard work during ABC World News, Diane Sawyer is an inspiration to many girls and women wanting to specialize in the journalism field. She started her career in an era where there were little to no female journalists. One of her famous inspirational quotes says "Whatever you want in life, other people are going to want it too. Believe in yourself enough to accept the idea that you have an equal right to it." Sawyer has used the rhetorical strategy of Pathos throughout her journalist career. She uses emotions and feelings to connect to her audience and viewers about the events that are taking place.
