In the past 10 years, our country has experienced a horrible amount of loss and tragedy when it comes to school shootings and mass shootings and everything in between. In the year 2018, coming after tragedies such as Sandy Hook and the Las Vegas shootings, many students who felt the need to protest took their chances and performed a school walk out. A school walk out is a non violent and peaceful way of getting the message across without putting anyone at harm, but it is something that is able to get their message and spread it all over the country at a very fast pace. In many instances, it is students that partake in this, but teachers and parents are becoming more active in this and are partaking in these with their children. This is such a powerful message to everyone in the community and until something is changed, these will continue. The author did a great job displaying so many different forms of school walkouts from all over the country showing teachers, parents and students of all ages that feel inclined to partake so it was very emotional to see so many people want to see a change in this area of our society. Many students feel as if "this isn't a protest against schools but a way to encourage school admin to help students
