Why do we Glamorize Serial Killers?

Society has a scary and obvious infatuation with serial killers. This is disturbing and cannot be healthy for us as a society. There are countless movies and shows all related to the stories of famous serial killers such as Ted Bundy, Jeffery Dahmer and Aileen Wuornos. Why are we so obsessed with them and their murders? We are making these monsters into celebrities even decades after their crimes. We are giving these killers attention and most of the time they are no longer alive to even know about it. I believe it’s disrespectful to the families of their victims to continue making shows/movies about these killers. Imagine your family member was a victim of one of these people and here Netflix is making a movie about them 10 or 20 years later. The problem isn’t that we are making movies about serial killers. It’s that it’s always from the point of view of the killer. “What we should really be doing is focusing on the victims of serial killers”.We are so busy glamorizing the killers that their victims are becoming completely forgotten.
