Anderson Cooper

Anderson Cooper is an American Journalist, he is son to Gloria Vanderbilt. He grew up living in New York and attended Yale University. He worked for ABC News then became an anchor for CNN, to later having his own show, The Anderson Cooper 360. What inspired him to be a news correspondent was when his brother passed away from suicide. He stated, "I became interested in questions of survival: why some people survive and others don't. . . . Covering wars just seemed logical." Anderson Coopers dedication to journalism has earned him many honors throughout the years. This included Emmy Award nominations and eight wins. In 2005, he won both the Peabody and National Headliner Awards. In 2006 he won an Edward R. Murrow Award and in 2013 he received a GLAAD Media Award.
