The Help is a novel that came out in 2009, by Kathryn Stockett and was turned into a movie in 2011, directed by Tate Taylor. This story is about "An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African American maids' point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis." One of the main characters, Skeeter has just graduated college and is expected to marry but she wants more for her life. She starts interviews the African American maids in her house and others nearby. The movie features many famous actors including Emma Stone, Octavia Spencer, and Viola Davis.
