Leave it to Twitter

"Fake news and false rumors reach more people" when Twitter bots begin sharing fake news articles on timelines. A study found that this fake news actually "spread much faster than accurate stories." The Twitter bots shared equal amounts of real and fake news, but humans consistently shared the fake news more. This would start with a human sharing because the story meant something to them. That first retweet would be caused by pathos since it's evoking emotion to share it. From their retweet, others count on the trust that someone wouldn't be sharing fake news. That method would be ethos. People don't even realize that they're using such rhetoric techniques on each other with their tweets.  [1 image, 1 link,2 quotes,116 words.]
